MOVIE REVIEW : WHIPLASH
INTRODUCTION
Whiplash is a American drama film which was written and directed by Damien chazelle .It's initial release date was 16 January 2014. This movie circles around the topic of music . It focuses on an ambitious music student and aspiring jazz drummer named Andrew Neiman who was pushed to his limit by his abusive instructor named as Terence fletcher. whiplash own several awards including Acedemy award for best actor in supporting role which was given to J.K. Simmons for the role of terence fletcher .
PLOT AND CHARACTERS :
A young boy named Andrew neiman who wants to be the perfect jazz drummer , he attends the Shaffer conservatory in New York , he wanted to build up a legacy just as his idol Buddy Rich whom he grew up watching . Before andrew was in shaffer conservatory he was in his college jazz band where he used to get dominated by other drummers because of their superior skillset . meanwhile Terence fletcher the conductor of the shaffer conservatory was on a role for recruitment of a new drummer for his band. Terence found andrew practising privately where he was impressed by Andrew's drum skills. soon after some days terence recruits andrew as his new drummer boy and was introduced to other band members of the shaffer conservatory. Now, Terence was a perfectionist he needed everything to be done in a perfect way , while andrew was a kind of guy who was slow learner . Day after day Terence was becoming harsher with andrew, scolding him , pushing him to his limits everysingle day , after all this Terence use to say andrew " you cannot be great by being an average " .
Now at some point andrew started to get uncomfortable with Terence, Terence starting abusing Andrew, due to his poor skills . all this affected Andrew mentally Andrew started overthinking, his anxiety grew up his was unable to control his anger and rage he just wanted to prove Terence wrong . Andrew started pushing himself to a certain point that his hands started to bleed. Andrew was now not going to look back .
Shaffer conservatory was going to participate in a competition, this was a golden chance for Andrew to prove terence wrong , but at the end moment terence rejected andrew to be the lead drummer and replaced him with some other drummer which broke Andrew's heart and all his dedication, at this point Andrew tried attacking Terence out of anger .
For some few months Andrew was out of drumming and music as all his dedication and hard work was wasted by terence. andrew started to share his story with his father (jim neiman ) jim told Andrew that he can still be one of the greatest drummer to ever live encouraging his son . after hearing words from his father Andrew got back to drumming . Andrew visited terence again hoping that Terence would have changed in this mean time . Terence added Andrew to his band again and promised Andrew that he will be the lead drummer this time . this time andrew was the lead drummer for the band terence told andrew to play the drummer as the old time , but at the end moment Terence betrayed andrew,just to seek his revenge upon andrew . andrew was panicked as he was infront of a huge crowd . But without losing his mind andrew stayed calm and by remembering his fathers words Andrew started playing his old song named CARAVAN , initially angered , Terence resumes conducting . as the piece finishes, andrew continues into an unexpected extended solo. impressed, terence nods in approval before cueing the finale and this was andrew was able to prove terence wrong and did a great comeback.

- To never give up whatever the situation that is.
- To believe in yourself.
- To stick to a plan and keep on pushing .
